Built by screenwriters. Evolved by technologists.
G-Script was originally created by a group of passionate screenwriters who understood the unique challenges of the craft—especially when it came to writing, formatting, and collaborating with co-writers in real time. They envisioned a simpler, more accessible way to write professional-grade scripts using tools writers already knew and loved. So they built G-Script: a browser extension that brings industry-standard screenwriting features—like intuitive formatting shortcuts and scene & dialogue counters—directly into Google Docs.
In 2024, we acquired G-Script with deep respect for that original mission. As technologists and creatives ourselves, we saw in G-Script something powerful: a tool that lowers the barrier to entry for storytelling without compromising on professional quality.
We’re here to help take that vision even further. With a strong focus on usability, ethical tech, and supporting the creative community, we’re committed to making G-Script even more robust—while staying true to what made it great to begin with.
We believe storytelling should be open, collaborative, and frictionless. Whether you're a first-time writer or a seasoned pro, G-Script gives you the tools to focus on what really matters: telling your story.
On Privacy & AI
We want you to know that we get it—your words are everything. That’s why G-Script is built with privacy at its core. The AI tools within G-Script are designed to help—not spy. They only access the text you highlight (plus a small surrounding snippet), and they don’t retain anything afterward. Your scripts remain yours.
And just to be clear: Google Docs doesn’t access your content either—unless, of course, you're involved in a true crime documentary. In which case… well, we’ll leave that to the FBI.
With Gratitude
We want to acknowledge the original creator, Ben Schmid, and the supportive screenwriting community that helped bring G-Script to life—including Lana Steibis, Dan Jozwiak, Jenny Holmes, Carlos Magiera, Lana Huxley, and Paula Fuchsberger.
We’re proud to continue their work—and to support writers everywhere in bringing more stories into the world.
